「SAKURA -JAPAN IN THE BOX-」

A brand-new night program like you’ve never seen before is coming to Nihombashi this September - Sakura -Japan in the Box-!

Sakura -Japan in the Box- is a new form of night entertainment proposed by Meijiza, the theater with the longest history in Tokyo. Tokyo, the city which welcomes visitors from all over the world. Although there’s all kinds of different things to do in this vibrant city, night-time entertainment was somewhat lacking - until now! This program brings a new kind of enjoyment to a time slot in which there used to be nothing to do: 8:30 p.m. (7 p.m. on Sundays).

Sakura is a high-school girl who just can’t seem to find interest in anything. That all changes when she meets a white fox and is taken on a journey across a mysterious land. By travelling through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, she starts to discover what is truly important.

This performance blends Japanese traditional arts like dance and instruments and modern pop culture like anime and games to show off Japan’s true beauty, strength, and the changing of the four seasons. That’s not all! It's extremely vivid by being synchronized with the spectacular projection of animation film. SAKURA-JAPAN IN THE BOX- manages to pull you right into Sakura’s world.

Worried about your Japanese language ability? Don’t be! Japan in the Box is designed to express Sakura’s thoughts and Japan’s seasons without relying on words, so every member of the audience can enjoy it.

Sakura’s journey is about to begin - why don’t you join her?
